An epic journey in support of Amici campers!

An epic journey in support of Amici campers!

On June 12, Kilcoo staff member Stu McGorman completed his month and a half long journey from Kelowna, BC to Kilcoo Camp in support of Amici Camping Charity.

The first leg of Stu’s journey was biking from Kelowna to his home in Thornbury, ON and camping along the way. After his 27 day bike ride, he embarked on a solo canoe trip, travelling from from his home in Thornbury to Kilcoo Camp on Gull Lake where he will spend the summer.

The canoe that Stu travelled in is one that he made himself in Summer 2020. When camp was cancelled in Summer 20202, Stu realized he had the unique opportunity to take on a project, and he thought building his very own cedar-strip canoe would be the perfect way to keep the magic of camp alive.

Stu is a true camp champion, and we are thrilled to announce $12,545 raised in support of this epic journey! If you are interested in learning more about Stu’s Trek to Camp, please click here.
