The Second Annual “Smoothie” Invitational Golf Tournament for Amici
On June 17, 2020, the second annual “Smoothie” Invitational Golf Tournament was held at Westview Golf Course in Aurora. Despite the pandemic protocols in place at the course, we had an amazing turn out of 29 guys and an absolutely perfect day weather wise.
Eight groups tee’d off to compete for the coveted trophy, but at the end of the day it was team McIlroy (Bill McIlroy, Tim Currie, Mike Sherwood and Lub) who were victorious. Their names will go on the trophy, which was created by Jeff Lloyd last year, and be displayed in the lodge at Kilcoo.
I’m happy to announce that we raised $1,500 for Amici at this year’s event, including a donation from Tim Stanley in BC who couldn’t make the trip this year due to COVID, but has never missed an Amici Tournament until now. Huge thanks to all the guys for their support. It was great to have an opportunity to reconnect with good friends, spend a spectacular day on the golf course, and remember our dear friend Bob “Smoothie” Slingerland, all for a worthy cause like Amici.
