Amici's Canoe Heads for Kids 2020 Goes Virtual!
Amici's Virtual Canoe Heads for Kids was one for the record books!
Saturday, May 30 was nothing short of remarkable! In an ever complex and challenging world, we saw the best of the human, and camp, spirit on event day. Our participants were challenged to replace the traditional 15 km of portaging and paddling for either a 15 km journey of their own or 15 camp activities.
We saw participants embark on 15 km solo canoe trips, 15 km runs, 15 km walks, 1500 rep workouts, 15 km portages, 15 camp activities with their families, 15 socially distanced s'more kit drop offs to loved ones and much, much more. They took to social media to share their journeys, and garner much-needed support, for Amici campers. Camp truly is in you for life!
On behalf of Amici campers and their families, we want to thank everyone who participated, donated, supported or cheered our Canoe Heads on. Thanks to each of you, our Canoe Heads 2020 participants far exceeded their fundraising target of $150,000...and have raised an incredible $219,198 and counting, all in support of Amici campers and their families.
Though summer camps will be unable to open in summer 2020, Amici will be supporting our families in unique ways this summer, so that our camps remain healthy, happy and ready to return to camp in summer 2021.
