Event Support
Canoe Heads for Kids is the Toronto waterfront’s most unique fundraiser. Held in early June of each year, Canoe Heads draws camp alumni and other supporters from across the province for a 20km portage and paddle through downtown Toronto.
Join us to help make sure everything goes smoothly on the big day! We are seeking volunteers to help us with:
- Logistics
- Event Day Support
- Lunch Reception
- Public Relations & Media
- Marketing and Graphic Design
- Volunteer Coordination
- After Party Planning and Support

Event Planning Committees
Amici is always looking for talented people to get involved in the planning of our events. Joining an Amici event committee is a great way to have fun, be part of a team and make a difference for kids this summer!
Types of Roles:
- Prizes, Sponsors, Donations
- Registration and Ticket/Table Sales
- Public Relations
- Logistics
- Volunteer coordination
- Marketing and graphic design
Time Commitment: Most event committees start work several months before the event, with regular meetings and/or conference calls every few weeks, becoming more frequent as the event approaches.
Campership Committee
Campership Committee members perform reference checks for new camper applicants and make recommendations for support to the Program Manager.
Time Commitment: This committee runs each year from January through the summer. The committee typically meets 1-2 times as a group. Each committee member is also responsible for several new camper reference checks, and mentoring new camper families. These are completed by each volunteer on his/her own time.
General Office Help
Volunteers have an opportunity to assist in our office with a variety of projects. Please contact us if you have daytime hours available and are willing to volunteer on a regular basis, or help with our spring/fall mailings. We will arrange a flexible schedule that's convenient for you.

Pro-Bono Projects
Donate your time and professional expertise. Amici is always looking for pro-bono graphic designers, photographers, printing services and more! If you or your company are interested in donating in-kind services, please let us know.
