Saturday, May 12 2007 saw eight old Kilcoo friends, in a new brand of Amici fundraiser, carrying and paddling canoes 40km around Toronto’s waterfront. Amici’s own Executive Director was the inspiration for the challenge, having completed a two-day portage of near-marathon proportions the year previous in the Muskokas. If fortune has it, what was to be the second and wildly successful Canoe-Head for Kids will establish itself as an annual event.
Aside from being a whole lot of fun, the event raised over $11,000 for Amici. Who wants to join them in 2008?
A very special thanks goes out to the participants: Willie Macrae, Stuart Snyder, John Dempster, Will Amos, Steve Reble, Gord Cruess, Andrew Medland, Jake Irwin
